Future Farmers Apprentice Programme April 24, 2025 – Posted in: 2025
Our Future Farmers Apprenticeship Programme was launched at the beginning of May to train young people in the Knowledge, skills, and values of ethical, environmentally aligned, cow-centred farming.
From a weekend taster to a six-week residential course, and now onto an extended year insitu apprenticeship, we aim to pass on what it truly means to farm with compassion. Participants are immersed in topics such as animal welfare, cow behaviour, ox economy, herd care, policy, end-of-life support, regenerative agriculture, and market practices. The goal: to prepare them not just to farm, but to live and lead with Ahimsa.
If all goes well this year pilot, it will enable us to:
- Develop and accredit a structured training programme recognised across farming networks,
- Establish the first cohort of trained Ahimsa farm apprentices ready to lead across future sites.
We have a group of seven and a wwoofer enrolled onto the programme:
Dom, Helena, Sam, Sophie, James, Kap, Charlie and Romain
